The Good Old Days
By: Glenn

I guess I had to wait until I was 35 before I could admit to myself that KISS never really cared about us, the fans. Sure, maybe back in '75 or even maybe '76 they may have cared, but since then they became blinded by money, fame, and everything else that goes with it. The first time I saw KISS was in '74 or '75 in Duluth, Mn., and even though I was young, that show changed my life completely.

Never again would I settle for just plain music; I had to see a big show with it. Gene $immons is the reason I took up playing bass guitar. The power it had in it's sound when he played just floored me. I knew that bass was the instrument for me. But now.... the one man who gave me so much music wise, has taken alot of it back. The bold face lies the he and Mr. Stanley give to fans every year since the Reunion has really tarnished my love for the group that could do no wrong.

Instead of being in KISS, Mr. $immons & Mr. Stanley have chose to "use" KISS for their amusement, not entertainment. Sure, the merchandising will always be over the top, even if Mr. Stanley said before the Reunion concerts, "We will not let it get out of hand again, we learned from the last time." Well, I guess with his age getting up there he forgot. Every time I read a magazine now that has a KISS article in it, I kind of pass over it and just look at the pict's cause no matter what they say, they do the opposite. I guess what I'm trying to say is..... lay the beast to bed gentlemen.

KISS will always mean something to me, but I will not donate to Mr. $immons & Mr. Stanley's home building projects any longer. I will content myself to listening to Dressed to Kill or Rock & Roll Over, and think of a better time when KISS was fun, not a burden on the wallet. Fade to Black.
