Maybe The Fans Are The Problem!

"KISS fans are the greatest!", said Paul Stanley once upon a time. KISS fans beg for KISS to be more like they were in the 70's, however, the fans have evolved into a different kind of animal than they were in the 70's as well!

I can remember when I first used to come to the KISS websites to get up to date info that I NEVER imagined I would ever get! Regardless of the info, it did not matter, I was happy to be getting it and most of the time it was correct! The tides have turned as of lately (past 2 years), these strange expectations are creeping in -- KISS can do this and KISS cannot do this.

Man, THANK GOD we did not have Internet access back in 1983 with the Vinnie Vincent/Mark St. John/Bruce Kulick saga! I can hear it now, "Mark who?? Who is this Bruce dude? He does not belong in KISS! Man, Gene and Paul are messing up so much, just like they did 3 years ago on The ELDER!"

KISS is fun, and if you are not having fun MOVE ON! Don't drag the rest of us down! I am a fan of KISS, anything and all they do. I do not buy everything they put out, but I do not bash it (do I think some of it is stupid? Sure. But the KISS fan next door buys it.). A little something for everyone!!

I know that everyone is gonna say, "We KISS fans think differently!!" KISS is a major part of my life, and a major part of millions of others as well, but in no way under any comparison is it as important to us as it is to the 4 individuals that started it and are presently in it -- Gene, Paul, Peter and Ace! They are making a living doing what they do! KISS is no longer this struggling rock n roll band living off of "no money" and writing songs about their life. They are millionaires trying to keep a business rolling. Everyone damns Gene for all the merchandise, but if it pays the bills, great! GOOD FOR HIM!! $$$$ talks! There is a reason that phrase is popular -- IT IS TRUE!

It is a shame fans cannot go back to the times when all you knew about the band was WHAT THE BAND WANTED YOU TO KNOW and what the band would release or leak out thru the press. To the time when you had NO advance issue of the album, did not know the titles to the songs, did not know what costumes they would be wearing, and when you saw them on tour that was it until 2 years later!!

There was alot more innocence then, and it was a lot more memorable. Now you go see them on a Friday night and the next morning the pictures, reviews, and tour stats are at your fingertips! That is cool, but different. IT WILL NEVER BE LIKE IT WAS IN THE 70's, and the sooner everyone gets to realize that the sooner we can all go on and just have fun with the band while they are still together!

Again, KISS fans wish that KISS was like it was in the 70's, but KISS fans are not like they were in the 70's..... HAPPY!
