The main riff is deceptively simple. The trick is to finger it right and then keep it that way. In Rhy. Fig 1 you should play the double-stop with your first finger, use your third finger for the ascending slide and put your second finger on the B-string. The trick now, is to keep that fingering, third finger on 13th fret G-string and second finger on 12th fret B-string, and shift the position down two frets. It shouldnĄt be a slide really but will get that feel if itĄs done right. To get the sound thatĄs on this track it is imperative that you let the B-string ring (second finger firmly planted) as you shift position. The second finger will follow the third and end up on the 10th fret, still ringing out, creating a new fingering: third finger 11th fret G-string and second finger 10th fret B-string. DO NOT pick the B-string again, it should just ring sympathetically so to speak. Once you play the 9th fret with your first finger take the pressure off of your second finger. Once you get the hang of it, it is easy; trying to explain it however, is not.
