OK kids, here's the deal... the "new" (unreleased) Carnival of Souls bootleg kicks major ass!!! Some people will not like this stuff, but I think the true KISS fans out there will realize that this is just another step in the evolution that is KISS.
High points: -Paul Stanley shows us once again why he is the most under- rated singer in the business. I think this is some of his best stuff yet!! (Check out the track "Rain" to see what I mean) -Bruce Kulick's guitar playing on this set is way improved over his previos stuff (even better then Revenge). -Gene's bass playing (the actual bass lines) are really good and crisp; he adds so much more musically to this stuff then before!!
Low points: -Not really any, except that I thought Gene's singing is a little flat (maybe it's just me). The production isn't typical Ezrin stuff, but I think this is also good in an number of ways.
Overall: Don't dismiss this new set, give it a good listen.. it is worth your while!!!! Some fans may be turned off to the somewhat "grunge" approach, but it is a natural progression for KISS. Let's hope it is released........
