OK, this is MY review! I got the tape yesterday and I loved it. ALL of it! I don't agree with what some people wrote [here on the reivew page] but then again, everyone is entitled to an opinion. This is KISS and always will be! If it sounds like AIC or Soundgarden, well, they sound like KISS too!!! Here's the song-by-song review:

1 - "Hate (Is What I Am)"- GENE: A very heavy song but groovy with very low guitars! The vocals, as in most of the album, are in harmony for the most part (sounds like Paul in some of 'em). Slow tempo.

2 - "Rain (Down On Me)"- PAUL: Really nice song. Very slow song with a nice chorus. In my opinion, Paul has the bests songs OVERALL (Childhood's End is my fave).

3 - "Tell Me" - PAUL: Faster song with a nice bass to it. Guitar suddenly appear and the chorus is strong. Some of the breaks in the song sound make it sound like Gene's song. One of them does sound like AIC but I love it!!

4 - "Childhood's End" - GENE: Well, well, well... This is the GREATEST song I've heard from Gene in a LONG TIME!! All of it is good: guitars, bass, melody, chorus, etc. It is a slow song but it also grooves. YOU HAVE TO HEAR THIS! (In the end he steals from God of Thunder: You've got something about you, you've got something I need).

5 - "I Will Be There" - PAUL: Some people didn't like this song. I LOVED IT! Led Zeppelin? I don't think so. KISS? YES! All acoustic with harmonized vocal in some parts. The vocals start really low and it progressively gets higher!

6 - "The Jungle" - PAUL: Along with #4, my fave! Up tempo song with a flanged bass and nice guitars. Paul's vocals are awesome! Again some AIC resemblance, but only in the beginning. VERY NICE CHORUS! I can't believe anyone who says this ain't KISS!

7 - "Seduction Of The Innocent" - GENE: Very nice, sounding somewhat like Chilhood's End. The vocals aren't screamed, sounding more like Wicked Lester or the '78 Solo.

8 - "It Never Goes Away" - PAUL: Very dark song, slow with AWESOMe guitars. The vocals are one of the best Paul has ever done (as in "I Still Love You"). The chorus gives me goosebumps from how good it sounds!!!

9 - "In My Head" - GENE: It is mix of "Not For The Innocent" with "Mr. Blackwell" and Pantera! Really great. The vocals are kind of spoken withthe guitars very thrashy!

10 - "You Confess" - GENE: Again sounds like Wicked Lester (the vocals, in the beginning). It speeds up a little during the chorus. Really good song but not one of my favorites!

11 - "Take A Look I The Mirror" - PAUL: Sounds like "The Jungle". Awesome song that rocks. This is really KISS!! Fast with a strong chorus!

Well there it is. My final word is that:
Paul: outdid himself in every way; best stuff I've heard from him since the 70's.
Gene: Different direction did good for him. "Child..." is the best and I just can't stop listening to it.
Bruce: it obvious that he co-wrote most of the songs, but his leads aren't very memorable (nice slide and WAH work in some songs).
Eric: strong drums (especially #11). It would be good if he sang!
GREAT ALBUM, ONE OF THE BEST I'VE HEARD. I would really like to comment with other people about it to see what they think!! SEE YA!!
