"Psycho Circus" Album Reviews

Sweden's Dagens Nyheter Psycho Circus Review

Hi, This is a translation I (Johan Mellberg) did of a review in swedish national daily newspaper "Dagens Nyheter". It appeared in the Friday part "Pa Stan" on the 25th of September:

(TRANSLATION)
It is not the first time during the nineties that the members of Kiss try so hard to make a rock-solid album that they almost burst, rather it has been the rule. Earlier attempts have been to try to approach harder rock trends, like grunge, while the reunited original line-up has made a first album that opens up towards all kinds of trends, pop-like choruses, ballads, and a cinemascope-production rich with choirs and smelling of the eighties. Many people will mutter about adaption but as long as it sells, Kiss won't care. And why not? The group has rarely managed to package itself more efficiently than this, the songs are almost as solid as they are ingratiating, and the chorus of the title song is one of their most catching ever.

Kiss at its most commercial, just like it should be.
