"Psycho Circus" Single Reviews

From: Wally Miles

Here I am just turning 20 and my life-long dream has become a reality.....something new from the original KISS. Being 20 years old, I discovered KISS during Crazy Nights[I was about 9 yrs old] and I went nuts from there. Sure, I've seen old Kiss shows on video and can jam to old Kiss tunes on cd but this is my first chance to witness the blood-drooling antics of KISS! Needless to say I am excited!

Was the single everything I expected it to be? No! What could I expect? This is totally new to me and I must say I am blown away! I'm probably getting the same feeling that many of the older loyal Kiss fans got when they picked up "Love Gun" for the first time!

The riff is an arena rocker, something that is an endangered specie in rock music today. Good solid beat from the Catman, and yes, I think it's Peter on the drums from hearing his phenominal work on the toms after the solo....oh yeah....THE SOLO!! Great work from Ace! Ace can show these new cats picking up the guitar how to work their instruments. Gene has really improved his musicianship tremendously since the 80's in my opinion. Paul's voice still amazes me. After 20something years belting out powerful vocals, no signs of wear-and-tear on this StarChild's voice.

I'm pleased with the lyrical content on this song. No half-a$$ pop lyrics, no I-wanna-die lyrics. Lyrics of unity! This is great and I'm truly proud to be a part of the second coming of KISS! Although I do wish I could have been a part of the first time that KISS ruled the world. Oh well, luckily I got those remasters!
