"Psycho Circus" Album Reviews

From: MJRCLLCTRS@aol.com

I am not going to give some 10 page opinion. But I will give my 2 cents of what I really think. I know it has been many years since the original four have done anything. It is very obvious that these four members have grown in very different directions. Their music displays it. I know we all had hoped for "that sound". But think about it, they can't hop or hump around like they used to. So you can't expect them to write the same stuff either. Every album Kiss has ever put out, they all do not sound the same. You can always recognize the style, the voice's, and the guitar's, but they're different in many ways. They have put out some really great albums. I think this new album has a lot of what they were probably afraid to put in their early years. Look at UNMASKED, a lot of people didn't like that album at first either, because it wasn't the sound they were used to. It was a lot softer, I think most of this album has that same appeal. These are the songs that I did like:

Psycho Circus - Cool beginning, great opening song, of course

Within - Great Gene song, guitar overdone

Into the Void - Great Ace song

We are One - Really mellow, groovy dude....this is KISS??

Raise your Glasses - I love this song, I don't know why but I do!!

Dreamin' - Reminds me of "Reason to Live" {part 2}, but better

Journey of 1,000 years - I give it a 10!!!!!, mellow but that sneaky Gene sound that I love!! His voice is great on this one!! He needs to put out another solo album.

It is so clear he stands out on this album........again!! The album is still no doubt worth buying, its a keeper.
