"Psycho Circus" Album Reviews

From: Vanga

I recently had the honor of hearing the soon to be released "Psycho Circus" and thought I'd give my 2 cents worth.

To begin with, I'm not the biggest Kiss fan in the world. Although I do like them quite a bit, I wasn't really hyped to hear the new release...until....well, I heard it. All I can say is I'm stunned. Although I'm sure alot of die hard Kiss fans might be disappointed, I personally feel that the magic that Kiss had become 20 years ago is definitely back.

I've read rumors that Peter Criss didn't drum on most tracks and that Ace didn't do alot of the guitar work and I hope those prove to be false. Here's my track by track:

1. Psycho Circus - If Polygram will put some promotion behind it, it could be a HUGE hit. Catchy as hell!

2. Within - Gene! A classic Kiss sound!

3. I pledge allegiance - to me, it doesn't sound "classic". overall an OK song tho...

4. Into The Void - ACE! CLASSIC! a GREAT TUNE!!

5. We Are One - I can imagine driving down Pacific Coast and hearing this song blaring out from the radio. Great hooks!

6. You Wanted The Best - Well, I don't personally care for it. I can't really describe it.

7. Raise Your Glasses - overall a good song. yet again, doesn't sound "classic"

8. I Finally Found My Way - I gotta be honest..I can't stand this one. I don't mind Peters singing as much as I do the terrible lyrics and structure of the song.

9. Dreamin - another good song!

10. Journey Of 1,000 Years - In my opinion, one of the best tracks I've heard from these guys in a long time. Most die hard fans probly won't care for this one. Reminds me of the Elder. Again, Gene on vocals.

Remember, I confess to not being the biggest Kiss fan. I do however think this is one hell of an album.
