"Psycho Circus" Album Reviews

From: TNIslander

After listening to the album, I have to say...."WOW" It just blew my mind. I have never been so excited about a cd coming out, then I am about this one. This is the type of album that you listen top each song, and you don't skip any, no fast-forward on this one. For an overall review, I have to place this as my favorite KISS album of all time, just behind Creatures and Destroyer. Here is a song by song review (in no particular order):

You Wanted The Best
Starts off with a guitar that sounds like "Rock N' Roll All Nite" and then it just kicks it up 20 notches. The guys switch vocals on this one, and I have to say that I can't wait to blast this one on the car cd player. This one would be great to start the show with.

Psycho Circus
What a great way to start an album. The first words out of Paul mouth, besides him screaming "Hey" are "HELLO", and what a great way to welcome all of us KISS fans back to the original 4. This one kicks ass. Paul sounds great. This song could have been on either Revenge or Carnival and fit right in.

I Finally Found My Way To You
Peter sounds great. Beth take 2. This will get alot of airplay if released as a single. Great to see Peter back!

Raise Your Glasses
Straight ahead Rock N' Roll. Nothing fancy with this one. Chorus has a pop-rock feel to it, but good.

We Are One
Gene continues to amaze me with his writing. From Carnival to Psycho Circus, his lyrics and melodies have been nothing but awesome. No more naked girls in the ladies room, Gene has showcased a writing style that is simply mind blowing. This one is great.

Journey of 1,000 Years
Here Gene goes again, blowing my mind with words. This one has a Goin' Blind feel to it. What a great tune. Gene is focused and ready to kick our ass on this tour.

Dreamin'
Awesome. Nice to see Bruce Kulick's name on this album. Paul sounds great. Chorus is excellent..."I'm only dreamin', between the light and the dark." What a picture that paints. Awesome.

Into The Void
Space Ace has landed and is kicking some ass. His vocals are great and the tune is awesome. This ain't no 2,000 Man or Two Sides. Space Ace has come back and blown us away.

I Pledge Allegiance
Another Anthem to add to Rock N' Roll All Nite and God Gave Rock N' Roll to You. Now what a way to end a show, those 3 songs back to back to back.

Within
What a great opening to the song. Has a Metallica "Unforgiven" feel to it. Love the chorus on this one. Gene, why have you been holding back all these years on your lyrics. WOW.

So, as you can see, I loved everyone of the songs. They are saying that the guys had other people play and all that junk, but this is KISS. They have always given 150% to there fans and I don't think they would have other people come in a play all the instruments. WHen this comes out on September 22nd, I'm there and ready to blast it.
