"Psycho Circus" Album Reviews

From: Ron

Psycho Circus, the new album from Hard Rock Heaveyweight Champions of the World, KISS, is a stellar collection of rockers, slower tempo numbers and a ballad or two thrown in. It really is one of their best records, PERIOD!!

Gene and Paul trade off vocals, as usual, on the tracks, and Ace sings a typical signature Ace Frehley written song on "Into the Void". Even Peter Criss gets a lead vocal on a touching ballad near the end. Nice piano and string arraingements on this one. The lead single, "Psycho Circus", opens the disc with some wild carnival sounds before it kicks in, with Paul on lead vocal. An extra special bonus is added on the track, "You Wanted the Best." The four grease painted warriors all trade lines on lead vocal. Its pretty unique and cool in the same right. You dont see or hear many bands do this sort of thing.

All in all, it really is one of their best efforts in a real long while. Definately the best since the origional lineup split up. Blows anything from the 80's-early 90's era away. If your a fan of the simple, anthemic, feel good, adrenalin pumpin, rock n roll album, this is one for your collection.
