Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: Sandra D'Jong

Hi, I'm Sandra D'Jong from Antwerp/Belgium.

I went to see KISS twice in a row, Paris and Brussels, and I have to say they where good in Paris but they really kicked ass in Brussels. I stood on the thirth row at the right side between Paul and Ace.At nine o'clock sharp the curtain fell down and the show began with "Psycho circus". Everybody went completely nuts and stormed to the front, I almost got crushed there. The mood was hot right from the beginning and it got much hotter when they played "Firehouse", like always Gene did his firespitting act, again he got lucky he didn't set his hair on fire.

From where I was standing I had a good vieuw at Paul, and actually I had my eyes on him for almost the whole show, so I didn't see a lot of other things happening on stage. During the live 3D interactions he played with the camera a lot, he threw and spitted pics at it. I was at the wrong angle to see the 3d effect properly, so I didn't put my glasses on. When you're so close to the front, you only keep your eyes on the things that happen on stage. And they did, Ace performed his solo , it was slightly changed, but he was great as ever, with smoking and shooting Les Paul he did "Into the void". Perhaps it was the only thing he did, cause I had the feeling he's not feeling right, he certainly doen't look very well lately. Then it was Gene's turn to do his thing. There he was at the center of the stage, looking very mean. He touched a few strings and then the blood came, I find this very erotic, the way the blood runs down his body. Suddenly he fly's op to the small stage above me where he sings "God of thunder", very impressive. Peter gave all he could during his solo and it was an amaizing moment when the drums moved forward, it's great to have him a little closer. "I was made....", started Paul and we all sang along. It sounds much better now than the disco version we all know, the crowd went out of it's minds again.A lot of fireworks went off. It got very hot. Paul wiggles his sexy behind at all times. He says that his parents lived in Brussels a while ago, but I heard him say this the night before too, so I don't believe it. It's now time he does his flying act, "Love gun" is one of my favorite numbers, and I don't like it when he is so far away now. I'm to small to see anything at all , so I'm glad he's back on the big stage. Then the big moment is there, "Rock 'n roll.....", I have a lot of fun when the confetti comes down with tons. There's a lot of pushing when Paul throws his smashed gitaar into the crowd. "We don't wanna go home yet", so we get our encores. Beth, Detroit rock city, and last but not least Black diamond, where we have to scream our hearts out during Paul's solo. I thought Peter's vocals were very good this time. Paul pouts his lips like he's sad that it's over. The last notes still echoing, when suddenly the lights go on and we have to come back to reality. I burst into tears when I realise it's over. I'm dissapointed not being able to catch some pics, so I grabble a few festoons and some confetti to have some memory of my unforgettable evening. They can say what they want about the Belgian people, but we sure made the guys feel very welcome in our small country.

I'm still in seventh heaven, when I hear the rumour that maybe they come again later this year. Hopefully they will bring a few new numbers from "Psycho circus", cause there are some good ones on it. But even when they do the same show, they can count me in, and maybe by that time I learned our national anthem Thanks boys for makin' my life beautifull.
