Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: Vandevoorde

Kiss in Brussels...hmmm, i don't know what to think about it....The show was not that great. Maybe it's just me expecting to be surprised every time i go to a Kiss concert, but something bothered me about this show. Indeed, this was the third time after the two Reunion shows in Brussels (12/96) and Ghent (06/97). Here's the bad news : the sound was not good and they never got it right. What's more; Peter was drumming like a statue, Ace just got on too much weight, Paul played on routine and Gene didn't give the impression to try to really kick it. But again, maybe it's me getting used to too much. The first show i saw was awesome, the second was ok, but now...you get the impression to have seen it all before (the same songs, the same show,...). ok, Gene spitting blood still looks great, but the pyro was disappointing (so was the 3D) and it seemed to me a lot didn't went off right. Enough...here is the good news : we (4) got VIP passes, so we sat in this box with a bar filled with beer and champagne. And even a lesser Kiss show is still entertaining enough not to get bored. I enjoyed the show. Paul talked about the young fans as Brussels sprouts (does he has an advicer for such remarks or what ?), but they just did the show on routine and that's what i think bothered me. On the shows i did before, i saw 4 guys trying to give their best to prove they were still playing with the big boys, but now, i felt, like someone wrote in an review in a national newspaper, they were just passing by the box office to take the money and go. They should have gotten the guts to have stopped after the reunion tour....
