Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: Chris Stompanato

KISS rocked the Rosemont Horizon last night to a nearly packed house (a couple hundred seats shy of a sell out). I've seen four PC shows so far from a variety of angles, but seeing them from the 7th row center sure was a treat. Being in the middle of the confetti blizzard was pretty cool.

No set-list changes or real surprises. They did make one very small change to the 3-D presentation. When the 3-D first kicks in during "Do You Love Me", the first thing shown was a prerecorded shot of Paul, er, wanking his guitar. That has now been replaced by giant hearts floating towards you with, I think, arrows shooting through them or something like that. Other than that, the 3-D presentation is the same.

The way KISS's show is structured doesn't allow for much spontaneity, but there was one funny moment. They totally botched the start of "Love Gun" as Paul was getting ready to fly, and for the first time I can remember, they actually stopped the song to regroup. Paul grabbed the mike and told the rest of the band jokingly, "Don't worry guys. Settle down. I'll make it all the way across." Pretty funny.

Also, Gene once again did not fly. He didn't in Milwaukee, as well. I can only guess his flying rig broke down, and maybe they haven't had a chance to get a replacement.

I have to continue giving Peter a huge thumbs up. I can only describe his playing during the Reunion Tour as timid and rigid. It was almost as if he just wanted to be sure he made no mistakes. Today, the difference is night and day. Great job, Pete!

Ace was very solid as were Gene and Paul. Great show!
