Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: Peter Arvidsson

WOW!

The KISS Psycho Circus hit Sweden HARD, and as expected it left nothing but a smoking battlezone.

It was great having "da boys" back in their "second home country" Sweden again. As usual they didn't dissapoint anyone and they seemed more loose and crazy on stage than on the reunion-tour. On The second Gothenburg-show(March 5), Paul and Gene had a waterfight which was hilarious to watch. Paul started it and Gene tried to run after him and get back but his demon boots didn't exactly make it easier for him (poor bastard!).

Gene had to wait until Paul was standing still singing. When they started RnR all nite, Paul went to his side and loaded his mouth with water then he snuck up on Gene from behind just to stand really close to his face.

You could tell that Gene got really nervous. He was like - oh no u fucker, don't even think about it. Gene sang like three words of the first verse then SPLASH! Paul spit a mouthful right in Genes face. Gene cracked and couldn't continue singing, Paul ran away with a big satisfied smile on his face! It was great to see Gene lose it like that. Also, Gene challenged his mic for a boxingmatch. He started to dance around and threw a few jabs then knocked it out of it's place with a left hook. Paul went -Yeah go for it Gene, go for it!

Stockholm March 2 and 3

Buck Cherry (opening act, cortesy of Dreamworks Rec) SUCKED big time. Bad tunes + My god were they boring on stage?!

They were booed out both nights. 30 min. later, KISS was on and WOW! I think PS is great opening song. Y'all probably know the set list by now so I won't get into that. I think that they could (read Should) have altered the setlist a bit cause it was basically the same as the reunion-tour. Makin' Love, She, I want you, Strutter, Parasite, next time maybe? Please?!

Peter rocked big time. His solo was a lot better this time around, also was his playing overall. Paul had somekind of orthopedic kneesupport on his left leg but that didn't seem to bother him cause he ran around like a maniac.

The only change in the setlist happened on the first show in gothenburg (March 4) when they opened up with Detroit Rock City instead of PS and they threw in IWMFLY as an encore.

3D was very cool. I've read some bad coments about it by some critics but personaly I enjoyed it very much. ( I guess their just jellous 'cause their own fav. band didn't come up with it first).

The audience seemed kind of tired the first night but the second night was a lot better. The highlight for me was when I got to "high five" Paul down by his little "island" during Love Gun. I think it's awsome when a big superstar as he is will take his time to come down really close to his fans ( Do you think a guy like Michael Jackson would do that?).

I'd grade The PS-show 4/5. Great show, great pyros but the setlist was the same as Re.-tour except for The three songs from PS.

I would like to thank KISS for being KISS and that they've given us a second chance to see the greatest band i the world perform the greatest show on earth.
