Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: Jon and Chantel Bullis

I am from northern Michigan about four hours from Detroit and recently seen Kiss two nights in a row. I had already bought the new years eve tickets and a couple weeks later the Grand Rapids show was announced so needless to say I had to go to both shows. I had seen Kiss three times on the reunion tour including the Tiger Stadium show and all three shows were incredible. The only depressing thing about the two recent shows was that the Grand Rapids show was hardly a sell out. The upper deck in the back was completely empty but Kiss still put on a great show. The Detroit new years eve show still had a few scattered seats left too but the Detroit crowd proved that they are still Detroit Rock City. The crowd noise was like night and day compared to Grand Rapids.

As far as the bands performance they sounded great especially Ace. Ace just ripped through his solo's as good as ever. Pete was probably the weakest of all.He was right on throughout all the songs but his solo was kind of lame both nights. The songlist never changed between the two nights except the order. They closed Detroit with Detroit Rock City of course and closed Grand Rapids with Black Diamond.I was hoping they would of played a few more tunes off the new album besides the three they have been playing. The worst tune of the night both nights was Within. I love this song but cutting it live is something else. They also boned Let me go rock and roll in Detroit for a couple of seconds. I don't know who screwed up initially but Gene had to stop playing for a second to get his bearings straight. All in all I left both shows a very satisfied Kiss fan and I will definately return to another show when they come around again.
