Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: Woody

Happy Halloween!

This was the greatest show on earth! I had an absolute blast...the 3D blew me away. I was captured by the guitars reaching out for me, fire and blood nearly engulfing me and the cool psychodelic effects.

The Smashing Pumkins got things started right by coming out dressed as the Beatles. They sang "Money" and rocked. Their set was strong and lasted about an hour.

The carnival kept us interested between sets. The cyclists in the sphere were cool as were some of the highwire acts. I must mention that none of the performers used a net. It was fun to people watch, too! Lots of people were dressed up in costumes; with more Gene Simmons than anything else.

The boys had the red curtain with yellow stars and moon. The screens flashed 3D and prompted us to get our glasses on, which were distributed upon entrance. The show started with Psycho Circus. I personally love the video and having the boys there to play it live was mind-blowing. I enjoyed the set list, especially the return of some classic tunes such as She and Nothin To Lose. The guys sounded tight and well-rehearsed.

Paul was outstanding. At one point he jumped onto a wire that carried him over the entire floor section to a platform in the center of the stadium where he played Love Gun. Gene was lifted up to a platform of his own during God of Thunder. Each member had a solo, which sounded strong and enthused. They really worked hard to put on a show like no other around.

The crowd was great...probably 70,000 or so. T-shirts and programs were awesome in that they were dated especially for this show. I purchased a shirt which had the boys in Dodger caps and jerseys. Pretty cool.

The lights and lasers were great, as well as the explosions that typically surround the band. But the ultimate was the fireworks show put on at the end of the final encore. It was breathtaking!

I had a great time and hope that I can fly out to Houston and see them again with my brother. It is definitely worth the wait. What a rush! Don't miss this show...
