Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: Greg Miller

KISS=GREATEST ROCK BAND OF ALL TIME

During the reunion tour, I had two chances to see KISS. However, I turned them both down. I have kicked myself in the ass over and over again. You can only imagine the joy I experienced at my first(and hopefully not my last) KISS concert.

Econoline Crush opened the night with a half hour of pathetic music. They are a poor excuse for a rock group. Everyone was bored. Rupp Arena was about 25% full for the openers. Mercifully, they finally left the stage. Two beers and two cigarettes later I returned to my seat. The PYSCHO CIRCUS curtain was up.

Then.....lights out. "LEXINGTON, YOU WANTED THE BEST, YOU GOT IT! THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD......KISS!!!!!

The amplfiers start to hum, the carnival has just begun!! Paul screams "YEAHHHHH" and the show begins. This is the most awesome experience. The greatest rock band of all time in front of me.

Paul was cool. He seems to feed off of the crowd's energy. His shirt stayed on for one song before it came off, much to the delight of the women. He seemed very energetic throughout the show. Complimenting fans, giving great advice.(He said, "If you are gonna drink, don't drive.") Then followed that message by telling two ladies in front row "if you two drink, I'll drive you all night"

Gene was pure evil. God of Thunder routine from up above was awesome and well-timed. He sounded good on everything except "Within". Spitting fire, spitting blood, or wagging that enormous tongue, he was wicked.

Ace was.....well, he was Ace. Smoking and flaming guitars rocked. That was the greatest solo I have ever heard. His sing was good as well. Into the Void sound great as did Shock Me. He was victim of tongue attack from Gene.

Peter seemed to be really into the show. Smiling and laughing most of the time. He seemed to sing a little too fast on Beth. He had one hell of a drum solo.

All and all, it was the greatest concert I've ever seen. The 3-D effects were wicked. It looked like Gene's tongue was gonna lick you right in the face. Peter threw a drumstick at you. Ace and Paul jabbed their guitars at everyone. The 3-d was partially recorded and partially live.

Deuce, Rock and Roll All Nite, and Detroit Rock City were the greatest parts of the show. I hope KISS visits Louisville, KY before the tour ends, because I will be there as well. It was the best $45(ticket price) I ever spent.
