Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: RogueGenX@aol.com

I saw the show in Lexington last night and I pretty much agree with everything that CD&Rebecca A. Baily had to say in their review of the Charleston show. It was good, but it was just missing something. They played the exact same set list as mentioned in all the previous reviews. Does any real KISS fan long to hear Rock n Roll All Nite for the 1000th time? I think it would have been a little better if they had played at least a few more obscure songs. I saw them on their reunion tour in 96 in Phoenix and they played at least 10 songs last night that they played last time. I don't quite remember if they played "Let Me Go Rock N Roll" last time, but if they did I'm pretty sure they didn't screw it up like they did last night. It was still 100,000x more impressive than your everyday ordinary show, but was just missing that sparkle. There was no real interaction between the crowd and the band. I mean, people screamed and yelled yeah, but it sort of felt like we were observing a machine that was almost oblivious to the crowd. It just felt really generic. Like if I saw them a month from now, it would be exactly the same from beginning to end in every way. Am I wrong to hope each of their performances should have it's own sort of personality? Also, people have been saying Peter hasn't been cutting it, I didn't notice. Ace was off and on. Paul is starting to look a little saggy. I think Gene was the one who messed up "Let Me Go Rock N Roll" but I'm not sure. The 3D was pretty cool, especially on the shots of Peter. The pyro and lights were great. Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it an 8.
