Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: dbrandler@ascap.com

Great show. I must say that this is the tightest that they've sounded in quite a while. If they made a mistake, you couldn't notice it. The only difference in the set list from previous shows was that they flip-flopped King of the nightime world and 100,000 years. It would be beating a dead horse to say that the set list still need some re-working but might as well make the best of what we have. Still can't figure out why She and Nothin to Lose have been omitted. They have to bring at least one of them back at some point in the tour. I think one more new song from PC and one more "older" song will satisfy some of the more die-hards appetite. That would also make it different from the reunion tour.

Highlights of the night included Psycho Circus, a blistering Let Me Go RNR (in which Paul forgot to dance in unison with Gene and Ace at the end of the song), 100,000 years, Within (which doesn't seem to be received too well by the crowd) and Black Diamond. It's nice to hear Makin' Love but you can tell they still haven't fully nailed it yet. As great of a song as King of the Nightime World is, it just doesn't fit in this year's tour nor does it fit in in the middle of the show. Unless they do it as the second song, they should really scrap it soon. Same for Do You love me. However, I must be in the minority because the crowd went ballistic during Dr. Love, Cold Gin, Detroit, etc. Peter got pissed after Beth and said "you can take those lasers and shove it up your ass" referring to the red lasers that people flash at the screen. It was weird to hear Peter get so testy. All in all a great show. I'm sure they will outdo themselves at the garden tonight. You would think and hope for at least 1 or 2 different songs but shouldn't be too disappointed if this isn't the case.
