Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: Jakub Krawczyk

Wow what a show! It's the second time I saw the band (the first was in Springfield, MA on the reunion tour) and it was much better than the first time. Actually it was the best concert I've ever seen. Let me tell you people. Unbelievable!!!

First of all the crowd was great. The majority of the sold out Madison Square Garden was on their feet for the whole 2 hours and 15 minutes! Hands in the air, singing every song along and screaming the whole time - awesome.

Special thanks to the Gene in the Dynasty/Unmasked costume, the big guy with the army pants and the KISS sign, and the Paul right by the small platform which the Starchild used during Love Gun - you guys made the mood right! No surprises as to the setlist. Makin' Love kicked some butt! Gene - you are the man (or beast rather). Within was heavy as hell, God of Thunder worked much better without the drum solo. The blood was awesomely gross, I envy the people who got spat on! Ace was amazing - every solo was incredible. His lead was really well mixed in, you could hear every note. I can't believe how good Ace looked and played - just like in the 70s videos I've seen. Paul sounded real well, and was 'Paul' all night long - no need to describe, we all know what I mean. Peter rocked! He sounded real good. I can't believe this was the same man we've seen as an old man on MTV Unplugged, The hovering drum solo was great. Not too long, not too short.

I'm not going to spoil the fun for those who are about to see the tour, by getting into the detail of the special effects too much, except for two things:

- the 3d was better than I expected - a real cool addition to an already awesome show

- the confetti rain was great, in one place there was a whole solid 'column' of falling confetti - man I wish I was sitting right thereŠ.

The boys got their golden records for Psycho Circus - it was great to be there for that moment!

If anybody has an audio of the show, please email me. And all of you people who are debating whether to go - don't even think about it, buy your tickets right nowŠ.
