Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: Kurt Olav Helle

First of all. Peter Criss was better than ever. Gene Simmons looked a little bit tired. Ace was Great, and Paul Stanley was hysterical and totally over the top. The magic was back in Kiss. They started at time, and played 2thhour 15 minutes at Oslo Spectrum. The 3 D effects was okei, but Peter Criss was the headmaster of the show. Next time please play Hard Luck Whoman, or I Finally found my Way. Yes i am a Kiss fan, but also a die hard fan of Peter Criss, and the magic suddenly dissaperd when he left the group. After a pre show party including Bruce Kulic, i went to the Spectrum. The support band was terrible, they were loud and proud, and a musical disaster. No music, just hum and fuzz.

Kiss started with Psycho Circus which is a great opener. But why not starting with You wanted the best next time. They sounded great, and the public was right into it . Much better sound than last time. The playing was thight and effectfull. Later it was to put on the 3 d glasses, were i sat in the backrow didn`t give me a great effect. The screen was to bright, to see it clear on the sides. Maybe the midscreen was better, so the standing audience could have got a better effect out of it. Im not sure. But back to the music. Shout it Loud was great. Paul joked about the Finland Concert in Helsinki, Oslo Norway was greater, he said. Within from Psycho Circus sounded much better live than on the record. There was some inspired guitarplaying by Ace, which sounded great. Pure earorgasm from Ace. His solos later on were great, and there were no problem with the flying guitar trick. All the ingridients was there, but the new thing was the drum riser from Peter. He played great, and sounded better than ever. He shouted God blessed you to the Norwegian audience, and it looked like he loved it. Peter Criss deserved all the credit for his tremendous work he has done since the reunion started. Beth and Black Diamond sounded like back in the old days. Peter has the rawness from Kiss Alive 1 and 2. Gene looked a little bit tired, except from the blodspitting and his magic flying trick. Paul took the audience with storm, from tune one, with Love Gun. It looked like he had a great time up there on the scene. All in all the audience responce from the Norwegian public were tremendous, and it looked like they enjoyed it. Space Ace and Criss Cat stole the show. Already look forward to the movie Detroit Rock City, and a new album, with more Criss and Frehly stuff. What more can i say the magic is back in Kiss again. In to the Void with Ace on the guitar was tremendous, and the sing along on I was made was loud and proud from the audience. Great Show, but why not put in more from Psycho Circus. ?.
