Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: Roger Hillis

KISS cemented their place as rock legends at this show, but they apparently forgot how many of us were at the reunion shows. Paul made a big deal about how they "added this new one to the set..." it turned out to be "Makin' Love," which they used to play with Bruce & Eric Singer. It was the only song different from the reunion tour other than the three "Psycho Circus" tunes.

Songs that could easily be replaced: "Do You Love Me," "King," "Dr. Love," "Let Me Go," etc.

They made the mistake of telling us months ago that they were rehearsing "Love 'Em & Leave 'Em." Didn't Gene also mention "Unholy" in Metal Edge?

"She" was plodding in L.A., but they should've given "Nothin' to Lose" a few more chances.

When they tour the States again in the spring, they should consider adding: "Plaster Caster"; never been played before "Unplugged," but fans old & new know it from Love Gun, Greatest Kiss, Unplugged & Kiss My Ass. "Flaming Youth" was on Destroyer AND Greatest Kiss. Songs that were on both the studio albums & Alive albums, like "Christeen 16" and "Strutter."

For Australia: Paul, make Gene, Ace & Peter learn "Shandi." Or better yet, grant Ace his request & learn "Talk to Me"; it was a hit there. You could play in America too, since it's on two albums now, Greatest Kiss & Unmasked.

There are two songs that are major exceptions to the "no non-makeup" rule. "Jungle" was a major radio hit just last year, and everyone's seen makeup clips of "I Love It Loud" with Eric Carr and Vinnie (and Ace.) Come on guys, don't be lazy! Rehearse! Once you do, the show will be much more fun. The masses aren't as strict about the set list as you think!

The lack of hydraulic lifts for the front line on "Black Diamond" screamed of cheapness; it already says in Kiss & Tell that the only reason they skip them is because of MONEY.

There are plenty of great points to the new tour, and everyone's posting them. I just wanted to give the other side of the story.
