Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: John Walker IV

Just got back from the KISS show at Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine. If you asked me to sum it up in one word I would say .... "I can't"

It was incredible! I have no idea where these guys get there energy. The show was flawless, except at one point at the beginning of the show someone was pointing a laser-light at Pauls' eyes. He was pretty upset by this and threatened to "kick someones ass".

The set list was pretty much the same as the Dodger Stadium show except the songs were played in a different order. They saved Black Diamond for last and since it's my favorite song, really ended the show great. Peter's new drum "riser" is awesome. It has little smoke things on the bottom to give the effect that he's flying. It was great.

The 3D part was really cheesy however. Even with the big screen and the 3D glasses, it just didn't look that great. Just don't put them on, the show is KISS, not 3D images of KISS. You want 3D, take the glasses off and watch the stage. It doesn't come more 3D than that.

All the clasic KISS elements were there, Gene spit blood, breathed fire, flew up to his "higher plane", Peter threw his roses, Paul flew to the rear of the stadium to play love gun, did his own little guitar solo, talked a lot to the crowd, and Ace caught his guitar on fire and shot missiles at the lighting and bew it down.

GREAT SHOW! I'm excited that I got to see it early on the tour. The most important thing I noticed was they all looked happy. They were all smiling the whole time, high-fives, the works.

The music was tight (even "Within" sounded better than Dodger Stadium), the effects were incredible, the crowd was really into it. All around a great show.

Can't wait till they come back!
