Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: a.j.h

hello everybody!! i have been a kiss fan for over 20 years now and i want to let you know what i thought of the show.

here's my review of the kiss concert in utrecht(holland). i have seen two reunion tour shows, and this was my first psycho show. to me there were not many suprises. it was almost the same as on the reunion tour.

but a kiss show is always a good show!

just to see them perform is a thrill. last night, the most significant thing to me was, they looked and moved so good. as if they were young gods. paul was and is the best frontman around. vocally he was in top form, and most of all, the raps between the songs were funny and not annoying. his flying to the center of the arena was the highlight for me. i stood 4/5 meters away from him.

gene was great too. constanly trying to make us clap our hands and make ourselfs heard. the only thing i did not understand was that he did not fly after his "bloody act",he did it two years ago in this same hall. i was very suprised by that.

gene's voice was good. in the beginning of the show he seemed to have problems with the sigaretsmoke. he was not the only one though (damn!. people quit smoking!)

also he had problems with the heat. constantly using a towel to put the sweat off his face Ace suprised me also, he moved realy well, not as shaky as i have seen him before. he was realy into it. his solo's are better now, but he still makes some minor mistakes ones and a while.

his voice on "shock me" was realy good. and his solo spot on " into the void" was nice, the best 3-D part on this one.

peter......now listen i don't want to bring him down because he is over his 50's, but he is just touching the drums. he is not hitting them like he did in the 70's. his solo was much more entertaining then his reunion solo. it looked like he saved his strenght for his solo. his kit goes sky high.

looked like a ufo) his vocals were good. i always loved "black diamond" the setlist was almost the same as on the reunion tour. much has been said about it, but what can you do about it if you got so much "killersongs" to choose from. ofcourse i wanna hear "she-parasite-take me-nothin to lose, but they got to make a choice."within" sounds good to me live.

the 3-D thing was nice but i expected more from it.

and i have to notice that the place was packed.

i don't no if it was a sold out show, to me it was . the place can have 16.000 people so that is a good thing. kiss should come more often to holland because the response is so well over here. from front to back people were very into it, they loved it! and i think kiss should remember that. we don't hear or see kiss much on the radio/tv, but we have a large KISS ARMY over here. but i have to say that they promoted this concert very well.

to me they are still the best showband around.and last night they prooved that again. i stood in the center of the arena, and that was a good spot to see and hear everything pretty well.

if you have never seen a kiss concert, and you get the chance to see one, GO!! it may well be your last chance.
