Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: RudyBtunes@aol.com

I saw the November 19 show at the MCI Centre in DC. I'm a third year law student and didn't think I would have the time to go. MAN am I glad I did, although I had to go by myself...which actually ended being pretty cool. 2 1/2 hours smiling and singing alone without having to think about school. I have been a fan since I was in 5th grade back in 1975 and Alive came out. I didn't get to see them until 1979 on the Dynasty tour when their star had started to fade ever so slightly. Saw 'em again in '83 on the Creatures tour and then again on the Reunion tour. This was by far the best show.

The Destroyer costumes are their best look, and the effects were awsome as usual. But all that stuff is secondary to how they sounded, which was great. In addition, they really were enjoying themselves on stage...I read some of the other reviews from this show and the Gene/Ace square dance was indeed a trip! Also, one reviewer said that Peter didn't throw roses during Beth...his 3-D glasses must have been fogging up because the Cat Man did, in fact, toss his usual 3 roses out to the front row.

The setlist - God I wish people would stop bitching and just enjoy. Yeah, I would like to have heard "Hotter Than Hell" also, but Jesus! be satisfied w/ what you get - its still a 2 1/2 hour show. Only real disapointment of the show was no "Strutter" - but it didn't matter. Still the best band in the world.

The best thing about KISS is that they engage an audience like no other. Paul Stanley is, far and away, the best frontman in rock. And its just fun, after 7 years of alterna-rock crap, to see a band that is happy to be in front of an audience.

Every song rocked - w/ the possible exception of "Within" - Gene should suck it up and try to hit the high note that he hit on the album, cause Paul singing the chorus w/ him isn't working. "Rock-n-Roll All Night" is simply the best party rock song ever and I will forever love this band just for writing it. Awsome show - and the Black Diamond closer was great. Be happy KISS fans, your band is back in fine form!!!

One last note - could every person out there that has one of those red laser sighters please take it and shove it up their ass - you are a huge pain in the ass to every other person in the arena. Whoever invented those things should be shot.
