KISS Tour 2000 Reviews

From: Alan Maher
I saw the Anchorage show last night. The Sullivan Arena is a small 8,000 venue. Due to the size of the arena Anchorage saw a strip down version with all the KISS goodies missing.

The set list was the same as reported for NYE. I felt the show to be more intimate than I've seen them do in the past while the were playing around and cracking jokes on stage. As for the goodies we saw the fire breathing, blood spitting, rocket guitar, and the ending fireworks, but that was it they left the stunt for God of Thunder home as well as the drum riser. The stage reminded me of the Alive tour with the only thing missing was the candles which I felt they should of added and it would have went over well.

The show itself as I said was very intimate and enjoyable. I showed up for sound check and thought it went over very well from what I heard of it. Into the Void came across very strong as a good number to apply to Alive IV, as did Rock -N- Roll All Nite. Others I felt need a few more weeks to mature. Timing was off on Shout It Out Loud, Lick It Up, 100,000 Years, while the others sounded thrown together at the last minute. But my impressions solely based on what I heard at this arena. This was the first time I had been to the arena and was not impressed with the acoustics.

All in all the show went over well. It still needs some work before they truck it across the states. And its doubtful Alive IV was recorded in Anchorage, Alaska as previously suggested.
