KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Bryce
Well, what can I say but another great performance from the best stage show act in the world!!!! Having seen 5 of KISS' performances since the reunion, this show was just as good, if not better than any of the others. (The Psycho Circus show at Dodger Stadium may have been the best). Anyway, I know that they had to be selective around what songs they performed and I think they had a good mix. Personally, I would have liked to have seen them do "Rock Bottom", "She", "Into The Void", "New York Groove" and/or "Strutter" but I guess everyone would have their preferrence. In terms of KISS individually....Paul (what can you say?), maybe one of the greatest ring leaders of the stage. I can't believe his energy and his voice (I think it's severely underrated). KISS wouldn't be KISS without Paul!! Gene (and the Demon character) is probably the most defining image of KISS. Gene, and Paul give 150% each and everytime I see them!!!! I LOVE GENE!!!!!!!!!! Now for the other two.........Ace is probably my sentimental favorite one of the group. Although Ace jammed on his solos, I was wondering if something was wrong with him. During "Shock Me" he stopped singing lead vocals and Paul jumped in for a moment. During "Cold Gin" he stopped singing lead vocals for a moment and I saw Gene look over at him. During the solo of "Cold Gin" when Gene & Ace usually meet in the middle of the stage, Gene went there and waited for Ace but he never came. Instead Ace walked up on the stairs and Gene tried to mess with him from the bottom. I'm not quite sure what was going on with Ace that night. When he did not do his solo at the end of "Shock Me" there were some boos behind me. Of course, I knew he was going to do a solo at the end of another one of his songs. I was disappointed that he did "2000 Man", I have never cared for that song. In a nutshell, Peter sucks!!! I love Peter for the fact that he's one of the original 4, but as a drummer, he seems to get worse. I mean, he solos sucked in a bunch of the other shows, but he had a great solo at Dodger Stadium. I thought he was really coming on. I was actually embarrassed for him for his solo in Atlanta. I do agree that the videos are better than they have ever been. The nostalgic footage during "Do You Love Me" and the animation during "2000 Man" was great. All In All, KISS proved that they are still the champions when it comes to the stage. I look forward to the show in Columbia tomorrow night!!!!!!
