KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Jerry Arambula
They came, they saw, they conquered - and so did KISS. I am talking about my two boys Hector "Ace" (6 yrs.) and Mathew "Paul" (5yrs.) who attended their FIRST concert - and what a "first" it was !!

The "adventure" began with me getting out early from work. Next was taking them out early from school - that was fun !! We hit the road at about 3:30pm and headed for Austin. Four hours and 250 miles later we arrived at the venue and found parking. What followed surely tried my patience - my two little ones went into a all out panick !!! They got FREAKED out with the crowd-the LOUD music !!! It was all out madness.

After a one hour search for earplugs they both felt much better with the plugs on. We "bravely" took to our seats when Ted Nugent was ending his encores. They seemed to think it was funny that "the man" was shooting an arrow at his guitar. The anticipation for KISS was nerve racking - we talked about the songs we hoped KISS would play. My boys are partial to the classic tunes and some of the 80"s and 90's stuff.

The lights go down and so does the black curtain - the look on my two boys faces were that of AMAZEMENT !!! Smiles from ear to ear with a little of "air guitar" thrown in. They loved the video screens thinking they were seeing four different shows at once.

The set list was changed around a bit but the same songs were played. Some of the songs had different intros and their playing was very sharp. Of course my boys enjoyed the pyro-flames-smoke but most of all the music !!! We managed to shoot some photos of the show and will have them as great momentos.

The drive out to Austin from Laredo and back the SAME NIGHT - the expense (tickets,t-shirts,food,ect.) and all the "other" adventures we shared that day were WELL worth it !! Thanks Hector & Mathew for helping make a dream come true - and a even bigger THANKS to mom (Yvonne) for putting up with our KISS "madness - EVERYDAY of the week !!!! A "special THANKS also to Linda "I can drive to HELL and back" Cisneros for getting us there and back !!! May "The Gods of Rock" bless all of you !!
