KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: David R
Last night was the definition of "Dream Come True".

As a kid growing up in Bakersfield, my brother, best friend and I used to wonder what it would be like to see KISS in all their glory. Unfortunately, by the time we were old enough to go to concerts, the make-up was off. KISS did play Bakersfield in '84 and '85, but as we all now... it wasn't quite the same. Later I saw them on the "crazy Nights" and "Hot in the Shade" tours.

Then there was the Reunion Tour show at The Forum. The hallowed ground where Alive II was recorded. It was like going back in time.

But the show last night topped them all. Sorry to tell those of you who only got to see the Anaheim show (I was there as well), but the show in little old Bakersfield was better. MUCH better. Everything worked flawlessly. There was new video. Ace was cracking jokes, and asked "How many bakers do we have in audience tonight?" Gene got in a tongue-lock with a very attractive female fan that seemed to last forever.

There's nothing better that saying good-bye to 4 of your best friends, in the neighborhood where you grew up. As the confetti fell, I started getting a little choked up. I've loved these guys for over 20 years. Most marriges don't last that long.

I'll miss KISS, but I will never forget them, or that magical night in Bakersfield.
