KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Eben
Wow! Last night in Bakersfield the "Hottest Band in the World" lived up to their reputation. I've seen KISS 13 times now and this show I have to say topped them all! The show was in a word, flawless. All of the technical problems that occurred in Anaheim on Saturday night (I was at that show too) were fixed and the show went without a hitch. The sound mix was also much better in Bakersfield. Vocals and guitars were much clearer than in Anaheim.

Musically, the band was in top form. The boys were very loose and playful with each other and the audience, including Gene engaging in an extended tongue-lock with an excited female fan at center stage.

KISS hadn't played Bakersfield since 1985 so there was much anticipation built up. The Centennial Garden wasn't as large as some of the other venues but the crowd more than made up for the size in their response to the band. Bakersfield will never be the same again!

Can't wait to see them in June at Devore! Maybe they'll throw some surprises into the set list by then.

Hopefully, they'll announce more Southern California dates for the second leg of the tour. I'm not ready for this to end!
