KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Bill Moore
All I can say is "WOW!!!" All the reviews you've read of the last couple of shows are correct. The band is sounding really tight now on the tour. Peter never slowed down at all during the show, everybody was in full character and playing it up.....definitely the best show I've seen. I had a 7th row center seat (best I've ever had at a Kiss show) and it was fantastic to see this up close

Some highlights from the show:

* Skid Row/Ted Nugent - I don't care for the Skids, so I hung out on the concourse. Uncle Ted's not my fave, but he was pretty good. His ranting wasn't as bad as I was expecting and he was pretty entertaining. * The setlist was pretty much the standard one for this tour(see earlier posts of reviews from other shows), except Deuce and Shout It Out Loud swapped places with Deuce coming 2nd and SIL 3rd. Paul only did one verse and no chorus of I Still Love You during his solo. It would be great to have a couple of different songs in the setlist, but the way they played....in the end it didn't matter. * Looks like the new opening is here to stay, and I must say it is very, very cool to see Gene, Paul and Ace playing Detroit Rock City on their way down on the riser, with Peter's drums dropping behind them. AWESOME! * I noticed Ace was absent on a few songs on backing vocals. In any case, the backing vocals were dead on and as a result, Heaven's on Fire and Psycho Circus were particularly good. * All the flying stunts worked without a hitch * The video retrospective uring Do You Love Me was cool. The Immortals video and Psycho game video stuff was fun to watch too. * Ace and Gene do-si-doed (sp?? the square dancing thing) with each other between Deuce and SIL when Paul was working the crowd. Ace and Peter had a few laughing exchanges during song breaks. While Gene was "licking" Ace, Ace stuck his tongue out toward the crowd, mocking Gene. On the floor, the confetti was an absolute snowstorm!

Basically, the show was awesome and a good one to end on. Fortunately, there are still some dates left on my itinerary for this tour. GO SEE THIS SHOW!!!!
