KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Brian
Well, after 25 years of faithful service I was given my discharge from the KISS ARMY with full military honors. The show started off with Detroit Rock City. Actually, I was concerned about how they were going to open the show since I was unimpressed with the opening on the VH1 live event. On VH1, it was too cumbersome....KISS gets lower to the stage, intro begins (YOU WANTED THE BEST, etc.), song starts. It just had no intensity. Luckily, the boys must have realized this. Much better entrance this time around. Intro, opening riff, explosion, banner drops, KISS gets lowered to the stage. Much more dramatic. Unfortunately, Gene didn't fly during God of Thunder, must have been some sort of glitch with the rig. After the song, he immediately went backstage (to chew some people out, I'm sure) Also, they seemed to be having problems with the pyrotechnics, often the explosion would sound, but no fire. Ace was great, for every ten notes he hit, seven were missed. Classic. Peter sounded great, his voice was in top form. Ace sang 'Shock Me' and '2000 Man'. I have never seen so much confetti in my life during 'Rock and Roll all Nite'. One suggestion, get rid of 'Let Me Go, Rock n Roll', just doesn't pack much of a punch as far as I'm concerned. All in all, great show. They will be missed.
