KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Gerry
What a great show, longer and better than the reunion tour. And that one was damn good!

Stayed home and drank during Skid (no Bas) Row. Tried to time our entry so we would just miss the 'Motor City Redneck', but unfortunately caught his last 3 attempts at what he calls songs. I'm not in the KKK or Arian (sp?) nations, so I really didn't get most of what he was ranting on about. He sounds like a little inbred, ingrate, trailerpark, whitetrash, ignorant, arrogant, misled waste of skin. On the other hand it sure made it easy for us up here to see why some Americans are afraid to send their kids to school. What an idiot.

Now for the good stuff.

The stage was huge. Massive screen behind drum kit showed various montages (the history of the band during 'do you love me', the online animations during '2000 man' 3D stuff during 'Psycho Circus' etc)

The band was GREAT. They all looked fit and were running around all over the place. At one point while Paul was chattin up the crowd Gene and Ace were jokingly trying to push each other off the stage and swinging each other around. There were lots of high fives and cat and mouse chasing all over the stage.

The show was 2 and 1/2 hours long and everyone was exhausted at the end of it. The entire Dome (20,000+) stood, danced, clapped and sang along for the entire show. Paul let the crowd take over on Lovegun, Lick it Up, Heavens on Fire, Shout it Loud, I Love it Loud........well you get the idea, the crowd was really into it and you could tell the band appreciated it. During Lovegun (when Paul was on his mini stage in the middle of the floor) the crowd was going nuts and he could barely sing for the huge smile he had on his face!

Gene was fantastic as usual. Lot's of blood, fire, energy. God of Thunder made little girls cry. He is a GOD!

During crowd shots the cameramen zoomed in on all the chicks with huge exposed racks. That did not suck.

All the gigs went off flawlessly and they were much bigger than last time around. You can not image how much confetti they shoot out during Rock and Roll all Nite. It starts right at the beginnig of the song and just never ends (at least 6 minutes) Confetti was shooting out the whole time. All the lights were on and the crowd probably sang about 15 chorus'. Every where you looked - confetti. You could not see the roof.

We wanted the best, and for the last 27 years, they've given it to us.

They thanked us sincerley, several times during the show.

Gene, Paul, Ace, Peter...................THANK YOU! You will be missed, but not forgotten.
