KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: DougP
I've seen Kiss 4 times. 77 Love gun, Animalize, the reunion tour and two nights ago, and I can honestly say that it got better every time..I grew up on Kiss. The first album I ever bought with my own money was Destroyer and it changed my life. I started playing drums because of Peter Criss and picked up a guitar because of Ace. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for them .. I'd buy a 60 minute cd of them mowing their lawns if it was available..but good is good , bad is bad...Rock n Roll 0ver..good..Crazy Nights..BAD..

Wednesday night it was all good...Skid Row was suprisingly entertaining. Nugent was like Charlton Heston with a bad weave and a shit load of caffiene. Funny , boring and a way better guitar player than I gave him credit for minus the goose stepping..

There's nothing like seeing a Kiss concert with someone who's never seen 'em before. My brother in law has never been a big fan , and looks way too much like Kevin Bacon for his own good...He and a friend went with me and my brother ( as big of a fan as me)

After reading all the positive reviews, I was kinda waiting for the hammer to fall. 4 fifty year old men cannot keep it up this long without an off show..THIS WASN"T IT!! They were perfect.

Gene was playfull and moved around alot.He play fought with Ace a few times , and during Cold Gin , Gene's Costume got screwed up, and Ace filled in without a step for 2 verses. Peter and Ace joked all night...Paul even broke from the canned banter quite a bit..

Paul is the ultimate showman..never stops, makes the crowd feel special..his voice was strong. Gene was cool..moved around alot, was playfull, his voice was right on..and his solo was creepy.. best I've seen..he was having fun, and it was cool to see..

Ace was the best I've ever seen or heard him, he was thin and active, into the show , joking with the crowd

loved it,, Peter, was, INCREDIBLE.. despite his obvious discomfort he played like he was 21 mixing up his fills, laughing and hitting hard...anyone who can't appreciate him I feel sorry for..he is the MAN.. His voice was strong and you could tell he wasn't just going through the motions...

The crowd was the loudest I've ever heard at a concert and played a huge part in the show. For all Paul Stanley's rhetoric about the fans being responsible for their success, and the spirit of Rock and Roll...15,000 people bought it and I for one believed it.. There's nothing like being acknowledged for your successes, and If I was a part of the past 26 years..I'm goddamn proud of it..

By the way.. after the show.. my brother in law hugged me , and thanked me for the ticket...he said " you;ve never seen a concert , 'till you've seen Kiss.., thankyou.."
