KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Geoff
Seems my review was cut short....here is the full text, written the night of the show

Wow....KISS was in town tonight! Having to work till 8 I missed the openers, but KISS was great! The show was at the 'Saddledome' in stampede park and sold out!

The Wednesday crowd was rowdy and ready, though you could tell these were old time KISS fans, hardly any smoke!

It was so loud that the concession gal had to shout ' no more beer ' at quarter to ten during 'Calling DR Love', so I had no brewskis at the show, not that it mattered.

After seeing tour after tour from bad seats I finally saw Kiss 41 rows back on the floor, and the difference was incredible! I was at the new years show and the show was soooo far away that it was not the best, tonight KISS ruled with the same show as the venue was smaller. I will describe the great s wow each member put on,,

Gene Simmons..

Gene was flawless on the bass during all songs, and was singing well. I had two teenage girls behind me who shrieked when he spit blood, and screamed when he 'flew' to the top of the stage. It was great to see them experience it for the first time as first time KISS concert goers! These girls were very freaked by Gene!

Paul Stanley

Paul Stanley......Paul Stanley!.......Paul was the best I've ever seen! Now I'm an Ace Frehley Fan from way back but Paul was the best member of KISS tonight! His showmanship won everybody over and he sings the tunes better than you have ever heard! The crowd was delighted when he 'came out over the crowd' and I give Paul a 10 out of 10 for his performance!

Peter Criss

The Catman was on tonight, smiling and prowling the skins throughout every song. It was nice to be able to see him as his kit does not go above his face. He chews gum throughout the show and keeps a solid beat. No grand solo, but the screens show he works hard to play the KISS standards!

Ace Frehley

Ace Frehley is My favorite KISS member and he did not disappoint! For anyone who picked up a guitar because of the cool leads on the first two live LP’s they did, this was what we have been waiting for. Anything Ace Plays is great, and seeing him play one last time with KISS was awesome! The only glitch of the show was when Ace was to have the smoking Les Paul rise to the rafters but the spotlight did not follow it! Ace had a brief comment for that guy!

The confetti blew to the back of the arena and I could see many new albeit last members of the KISS army were sworn in fight the last battle of the KISS ARMY.
