KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Jim
The show in Charleston was announced by Skid Row AND Kiss that it was the last Americashow. Well, there was no previous announcement, but both bands sure acted like it was. During the Skid's last song, the Kiss crew dismantled their set. Funny as hell. Anyway, my 18 year son and I saw Kiss for the REALLY last time this time. I thought it was the last time in Charlotte in April and Raleigh in June, but they added Charleston to the tour, so they came to my home town! As far as the show went, it was the same songs, but in a different order. The showstopper, of course, was Love Gun. We were right at the floor and probably about 20 from Paul when he cameout. Fantastic. Overall, the guys goofed off more than I had seen. Peter was having a great time, laughing and joking. And it showed in his playing. Ace goofed, and Gene was goofing on Ace all night. During some songs, he reached over andpunched (lightly) him in the nuts a couple of times. The real surprise was right before RARON. You knew what they were going to play, but Paul said "Gee, it's hard to decide what to play". So, Ace started with "Secret Agent Man", and Gene and Peter joined in a played a few bars. Paul started laughing. Then Ace started "Wild Thing", which they played a bit. So, obviously in a goofy mood, Ace starte "Parasite", and "She", which Peter and Gene played. All during this, Paul kept looking into the camera saying "Help Me, Charleston". When Ace asked Paul what's up, he said "I'm just waiting my turn", and laughed his ass off. But they went into RARON and the show continued. But, during the last part, when Paul was smashing the guitar, Peter got up and smashed his drums. EVERYTHING. Cymbals, snare, microphones.....just destroyed them. Then, during the last bombs, he held up his fists in defiance, then turned to walk as the last bomb went off....what an ending. I don't know if it was the last American show...(no way), but they sure acted like it was.........What a night...... That was truly the last time I'll see the Greatest Show on Earth. And it was a fitting end........ Hail to the Kings...The Original Fab Four........ The Hottest......The Greatest....The Best......
