KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Sswwn
I saw KISS on the farewell tour back on 5/11 at the Allstate Arena in Chicago. This was my second show and last on this tour and I must say.. IT was A much Better show! This was KISSes last time playing Chicago third on this tour. The first time Kiss played Chicago was back on April 19,1974 at the Aragon Brallroom. So without Ted Nugent, the fans had to suffer through Skid Row. And i do mean suffer. The singer is horrendous the high pitched screaming is terrible. I did enjoy Psycho Therapy that the punk rock bass player sang. Kiss hit the stage and of course opened with Detroit Rock City. The band sounded great. And the energy of the crowd carried this show unlike at the last show where the energy took a dive early on. This was a great Kiss crowd. Some high points in the show... right before New York groove Ace went to start the song and then all the sudden looks around and goes up to the mike and says "oh i forgot to turn the volume up" on his guitar. Ace also said something during his solo like " I was going to fly but the F---ing motor broke" and "the guitars too young to smoke its only 3 years old" The band really played well and was solid all night long. Towards the end of Cold Gin we saw the stage being set up for Paul. So we went right up to it and stayed out there for 100,000 years front and the rest of the crowd soon followed but we were the first ones and right up front. That was great. The pyro was good but not as good as ive seen probably cause it was outdoors and a windy night. During Beth Peter messed up the lyrics.. he started with the line ..just a few more hours... And after Beth during Pauls speach Ace starts playing and Pauls like Ace wants to do a solo. So Ace started playing then Peter joined in the Gene and Paul and they had a little jam. Not of kiss tunes they were just playing.. That was a real treat. The confetti was blown all over during rock n roll all night cause of the wind. The only low point was that someone stole my Tour Book so i had to put up another 30 for a new one. But all in all an excellent show and proabably the best kiss show I have seen. My favorite songs of the night- Shout it Outloud, I love it Loud, Heavens on fire (the chorus even sounded right) Lick It Up, and the Best of coarse LOVE GUN.. Excellent show.. and my last show. thanks ACE, Peter, Paul, Gene it will always be Cold Gin time again.
