KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Tony
Going into the show, I was really wondering if this was going to be a carbon copy of the P.C. show, no interaction, lack luster perfomance, etc. I can't tell you how wrong I was. This show was by far the best I've seen them. Nothing will match the excitment of seeing them in 96, but as far as musicanship, interaction, and the smiles they all had, nothing could top this. The one thing I really paid attention to was Peter. I've seen the reviews of how strong he has been lately, but I couldn't believe just how strong he has become. From Deuce on, he was REALLY pounding! I don't care how many triggers he might have, last night, it was all muscle. There was no half hearted hitting of the cymbals, it was all power. It was awesome. Ace was...ANIMATED! I have not seen him look so happy or move around so much in the 12 shows I've seen since 96. Very, very minor screw ups on some solo's. No problem with his own solo at all, no tripping, got the guitar on the hook really quick, all flawless. I've seen some of the people who saw the webcast post some bad reviews about the show. I don't think a choppy picture that you watch by yourself in front of a computer screen can compare to being with 18,000 maniacs who are totally into the show. You are so caught up in the hysteria, you don't notice the stupid little things. Finally, what made the night extra special was at the very end of Beth I got engaged to my girlfriend. So this will really be a night I never forget. Anyone with notions about not seeing them this time around has no clue what they are gonna miss. GO SEE THIS TOUR!
