KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Thompson316@mindspring.com
I said that after Psycho Circus came out that I'd never spend another dollar in support of Kiss. I was upset that the album wasn't entirely recorded by the band and I was sick of the same songs on the set list tour after tour. And I wasn't even too thrilled with a "reunion" at all. But apparently, fate wanted me to see Kiss one last time. I won an excellent pair of $70 tickets in a contest on a local sports talk radio station. I really hope that Kiss doesn't ever come back around. I've seen them 5 times and last night was the absolute best they've ever been in Cleveland. That was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Skid Row: They were pretty cool actually. They knew why they were there and they did a good job warming up the crowd. There was some wasted fat old child of the 80's in front of me going crazy and spilling beer on people. Regardless, it was cool to hear 18 and Life again.

The "Nuge": Watching him be a jackass for an hour was entertaining in itself. He used headset microphones which are pretty lame in my opinion. Also, he didn't use his Ted Nugent sign. It was covered in a black tarp the whole time. He said a couple of funny things though. He talked about everyone being there to celebrate 150 years of Kiss and he said he really liked the "Kissy shit" He shot his guitar with an arrow and offended minorities and homosexuals, that was about it. By this time the fat 80's chick in front of me was really feeling the effects of the beer and wasn't as active.

KISS: They sounded fantastic. They all looked happy to be there and each member played their part really well. The set was the same it had been, but it was just so much fun this time. I guess I just had to drop my inhibitions and realize what I was seeing. Nobody has ever put on a rock and roll show like Kiss. The specticle and audience reaction was amazing. Furthermore, I actually realized that a major chapter in my life was ending. I grew up on Kiss and I was there the last time they were in Cleveland. I went to the show with my friend who has seen all my Kiss shows with me. Until last night, I hadn't seen him in 3 years, and now I may not ever see him again. It was an unreal experience. You can never really pin point the time when your youth has ended, but last night was a closing chapter. It was the best time Kiss has ever given me. On a side note, the 80's chick was so trashed that she spent half of the Kiss set in the bathroom and the other half sitting down incoherently!

. If you go see Kiss, relax and have a few beers, but don't overdo it. Thanks Kiss.
