KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Joe Vocke
KISS has not missed a beat... the show was absolutely the best. On the reunion tour, the shows in the middle/toward the end of the tour were the best ones because the band was tight, the production was tight, and everything worked like a well oiled machine. The guys have been on tour for months now, and it shows.

This show, top to bottom, was the best KISS show I have seen since they put the makeup back on. The music was tight, the lightshow was spectacular, and the pyro was better than anything they've done before. Some highlights for me were:

* Set list was perfect. So happy I got to hear "I Love It Loud" in makeup.

* Most pyro I have ever seen at any KISS Show - Makeup on or off.

* Gene during God Of Thunder - I have NEVER seen him so animated during the blood spitting part. He usually goes off, but tonite he looked positively evil / possessed. He put his hands together like he was praying, and had his eyes rolled back so there was nothing but whites. Evil. Awesome effect.

* Paul flying - This has become my favorite part of the show. The crew dropped him a few feet short, but it was cool because the fans held up their hands and he got on stage, threw his hands up like: "Here I am! I made it!"... Awesome.

* Ace's solo - Very cool... the air jets at the front of the stage really add to the smoking guitar effect... plus the confetti - very cool. Also the guitar effect on RNRAN was sweet!

* Peter is playing better right now that I think he played at any of the Reunion shows I saw. He was smiling, and fairly animated tonite.

* Very cool video during "Do ya' love me"

All in all - well worth the money I spent. I can't think of anything more I would want from a KISS concert.... this was absolutely great to be able to remember them by this show... Can't wait to see them in Toledo one last time (and better seats!)
