KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Ronald Hanwell
Wow!! The set list and the special effects were as read here in previous reviews, but wow!! KISS is the very best rock n roll band, live, ever. No doubt, the greatest concert I have ever been to. I took my wife, who was skeptical. She is not a KISS fan, and is quite frankly scared of Gene. Once she realized this was not a satan worshiping fest, or a gory horror movie in person, she really had a good time and this morning, admitted that now, she likes KISS. It has been a ling time comin, and I know, she is about 27 years too late.

All day all over Cleveland radio, it was KISS weekend in Cleveland. The rock n roll Hall of Fame had Gene and Paul sign autographs from 4-5 pm. It was a mob scene, and I didnt make it down there. This was one hyped weekend, with 2 shows, and Cleveland was primed and ready with 2 sellouts.

Some observations, Peter looked energized and good throughout, and I loved the smoke bellowing out of the cats mouths of the drum riser for "Black DIamond". I had read on these pages that he may be less than that. Not the case. Gene was king of the world and Paul was, well, Paul. Ace did his thing, singing out of key in his own style, and ripping with some fresh solos. Pete and Ace looked and sounded great on the non-makeup stuff. Thought Pauls act during Love Gun was fabulous. I was on the floor, bout halfway back, so it was a treat. "2000 Man" is one of my all time favs, and it was a treat to hear that. The computer graphics were excellent during this song, and so were the old footage during "Do Ya Love Me". That was great.

I have my own personal setlist that I would have hoped for, but all in all, it served everyones purposes.

ps. On the way out, I ran into a man and his girlfriend from CHicago, and they were traveling and going to KISS shows on this tour. They had been to Vegas, Aneheim, Houston, Dallas, and now here. They said, in their opinion, that this particular show, on a hot Friday night in the Rock n ROll Capital of the WOrld, was the best they had seen so far. Nice. Liked hearing that.

Rock on, baby, one more night to go here in C-Town. Im still tryin to score my ducats.

DONT MISS THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
