KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Bud E. Luvbomb
I have seen KISS 11 times now, and it seems like they get better each time! My seats (bought off of a Ebay for THIRTY DOLLARS A PEICE!!!) were on the floor, right next to Pauls ministage!!!!! I had to see KISS in Cleveland on the farewell tour, because we all know KISS loves Cleveland, and Cleveland loves KISS.

Openers, Skid Row, just noise, that is all they were. I love Snake Sabo, he is a cool person, but it is time for the SKids to hang it up. Ted Nugent, well, I do not really dig Republicans or Rednecks, but great white buffalo was kinda cool. Could have done without his racist comments though, I would really like to kick his ass.

On to KISS. AWESOME intro, coming down from above like superheros. Great career spanning comprehensive set list. My buddy Scot Ian from ANTHRAX said it was "blasphemy" to have "Heavens On Fire" performed in make-up with Ace & Peter, but I was pleasantly surprised with that song as well as "I love It Loud," "Lick It Up," and the snippet of "I Still Love You." The crowd really got into those tunes, as did Ace and Peter, I guess the crowd really appreciated those tunes since we had not heard them since 1992. Paul as always, was in top form. Peter was smiling all nite, and sounded good. Ace was spacey as ever, "2000 Man" RULED! And Gene, he was PURE EVIL!

Paul got pretty emotional as did the crowd, with his between song farewell talk, and the movie during "Do You Love Me" got everyone misty eyed. The stage was the best they have ever used. The monitor is so bright and clear, much better than the 96/97 screen. I also believe they used more pyro on this tour than ever before. All the stuff you expect to be there is present, die-hards won't be surprised, but then, nobody will be dissapaointed.

See ya at Polaris next week, and I am crossing my fingers KISS play Dayton one last time!
