KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Scott Schaefer
After having seen the band perform every year since 1979 and three times on the Reunion Tour and Psycho Circus, I was never more impressed with them than on this night in the midst of The Farewell Tour. The band, in my opinion, had never sounded tighter and played with more enthusiasm than they had in years. This was a non-stop party (well, with the exception of some goons from Hall Security) from beginning to end! It was great to see them perform some material from the 80's when Peter and Ace weren't with the band. Although most of the show didn't really give us anything we hadn't seen or heard before, there was something just very special about this time. Perhaps it was the realization that we MIGHT never see them again. A little bittersweet, but awesome none the less.

Opening with 'Detroit Rock City' and powering through the classics ('Love Gun','Deuce', 'Do You Love Me' and others), KISS didn't stop all evening. Some of the highlights were Ace's solo during '2000 Man', Gene's blood-spitting at the intro of 'God Of Thunder', and, of course, Pauls flying gimmick during 'Love Gun'. If you have the chance to see the band on this tour, you simply HAVE TO! Whether it is in fact, the farewell or not is of no importance. The band is simply back on top of their game and at their absolute best.

I REALLY hope this isn't good-bye, but if it is, what a way to go!
