KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Jeremy Hudson
My wife and i arrived at the Columbia colisum at 6:30 pm. We live about 100 miles away and left right after an 8 hour work day. we went straight in and saw the huge line for memorbilia. It was like everyone has said, they really had no order to them. but i have to tell everyone i have never been to a concert where they have been in some kind of order, the KISS ones were just bigger. On to the Show.

SKID ROW :After reading about them here my expectations were really low. But after hearing them i somewhat disagree. the lead singer CAN sing. BUT, he cannot sing like sabastion, and he tries so hard. when he tries to hit the high notes his voice just breaks. He totally butchered "I remember you".

Ted Nugent :The moment he opened up wearing a confederate flag on his shirt he had the crowd eating out of his hands. His political views (or at least the ones he shared) went over real well with this crowd.

KISS : awsome new entrance, almost like the reunion but they are playing while coming down. During DRC, i noticed pete wasn't hiting the drums that hard, just like opening night on VH1. But i guess he was just warming up, because after that song, he was hitting them hard the rest of the night. sure he might take some shortcuts, but after what happened in columbus, and just had surgery on them i would too.

Besides that the rest of the night the band was close to perfect. Gene being the usual gene, paul prancing around on stage, and ace was awesome on the guitar. Gene had a few problems being lifted up. when he got up there, he wasn't over his platform and had to point so they would move him forward. and when they did they almost moved him too far!! same set list as it had been and paul playe a little bit of I still love you before black diamond. all in all, an awesome show. finally got to bed at 1:45 AM and woke up at 5:35 AM to head back to work. My ass dragged all day but was it worth it? HELL YEAH IT WAS!!

on a side note: at these concerts it can get particularly hot so make sure everyone does their part and wear deoderant. with all the arms up in the air it can get pretty stinky at times. we already have to smell smoke and pot, and one less pollutant would help tremendously.
