KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Phil Sapienza
Our journey from Muskogee OK began around 2:00pm putting Bev and Me in Dallas at around 6:00. Skid Row started early(6:45ish) so they could gig later on at the Bronco Bowl. Not too impressed with the new guy, can't quite hit it like Bas. A loud, short and uninspired set in my opinion. Next up of course was Ted. To quote the immoratl Frank Zappa "shut up and play your guitar"!!! The music was great(he has Tommy Aldridge and Mendoza to bail him out), but I wish he wasn't so bitter. Then again, he has been around longer than KISS and is just an opening act, guess I'd be a little tepid too. Anyway if you happen to read this Ted, you have a very tight three piece band, but you are a Penis. Keep your radio show and your stage show separate!!Oh and um what's with the confederate flag shirt? Aren't you from Michigan?

What can I say about KISS?? I was 10 when I first held ALIVE! in my hands in the record dept of GRANTS' in New Hyde Park, New York. To stand just 15 rows away from THE BOYS 25 years later was a trip through my past to say the least. All I can truly say is that KISS HONESTLY gave it all they had and more!!! I'm not going to sit here and criticize the song list, they had alot of material to choose from that covers many years, albums and phases in their career. They obviously enjoyed playing every song, which convinced me that they we're sincere even during Lick it Up and Heavens on Fire. When I first caught wind of the Farewell tour I thought that KISS would just be going through the motions to make a quick buck. But just a few short hours(and 242 miles)ago, Ace, Gene,Peter and Paul proved me wrong. The music was tight, the stage show was great and they played for nearly 2 1/2hrs. For Me this will be a night to remember. If any band deserves to go out on top it's KISS, and they are doing it. To the fans, DO NOT miss this show. To KISS, Thank YOU and God Bless!!!
