KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Henrik Bergentoft
I had the good fortune to be in Chicago on work-related stuff. Being a long time Kiss-fan the decision to fly via Dallas on my way home to Sweden was an easy one to make. This was going to be my fifth time, three times reunion, one time PC.

The Starplex was a pretty cool semi-outdoor arena. I had a great seat, just in front of the stage beside Pauls mini-stage. Skid Row has had 2 no 1 on Billboard, could have fooled me! All in all they have some entertaining teenage-rock songs such as youth gone wild. Ted Nugent was a boring loudmouth.

The curtain drops and once again you get that feeling that just cant be found anywhere else. The low key music, the curtain drops with an explosion, at the rafter you could sense four pairs of plattform-boots that cant be found anywhere else. ACE, PAUL, PETER AND GENE comming down a flying saucer together with flashing lights and smoke. Peter walking up to his drums and you here the famous words YWTBYGTBTHBITW KISS! They hit of DRC, which is an outstanding tune (original opinion, huh!?). Sound was not to good for starters which kind of reduced the impact this son usually has. Then they rolled on, wont give you the set-list, it was what was expected. I was completely happy with it, althoug it would have been nice with one surprice such as take me or rock bottom.

What else can you say, for you have not experienced a full blown Kiss concert it is impossible to descrbe it using only words. For those who have seen one, you know what I am talking about. When I was a little boy the first and the last thing I saw when I got in and out of bed was walls completed covered by Kiss posters. Standing 3 meters away from Mr Paul Stanley during Love Gun on the ministage gave me a kick of happiness and surrealism that was totally unbelievable!

Cool and remarkable thing was girls taking of their tops, you would not see that in Sweden! Starchilds reaction "baby have you got something you wanna show us?!"

People, go see them!
