KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Kuch
GREAT SHOW! I always wanted my son -- on his 1st concert-- to see what a true "Rock and Roll" concert was all about, and KISS hit the mark. True bombastic rock and roll. Thanks guys!

Comments: - The band looked great! Not sure what everyone else saw in previous reviews, but the whole group looks like they are having a great time. ACE was fantastic on guitars---his solo's kicked. As for playing 1980's songs---I saw no displeasure from ACE and Peter. ACE altered the riffs a bit----and they sounded awesome. In fact, as I've said all along, they should play more of these songs. You put these four guys together and they can remake the 1980 KISS songs into their own classics. The crowd went wild on the 3 '80's songs played: Heavens on Fire, Lick it Up, and I Love it Loud.

- The song list appears to be an exact replica of the reunion tour---save of few songs here and there. The only new songs I saw where the 3 1980 versions mentioned above, ONLY one from Psycho Circus album (Psycho Circus) and then 100,00 Thousand Years.

- My opinion on your song list (assuming KISS reads these)---change it up a bit. Remember, you (KISS) state this is a celebration of your history. Then let's celebrate! Your 80's selections are OK---but how about War Machine, All Hells Breaking Loose, Uh All Night, Take It Off, and from the 1998 CD You Wanted the Best. Those would be killers. An let's toss in ACE's Rock Soldiers and In Your Face off the Japanese Psycho Circus CD. An finally, BETH---common guys---toss this---it's lame. Substitute that with 'We Are One'.......you'd have the whole crowd singing that with you....especially if played on your 1st encore.

- Is this the end? I think it is. Personally, I do not see this band playing together after this Farewell Tour. As we all know, Paul and Gene are control nuts, and I believe ACE took exception to that (on the Psycho Circus recording). Is this the end? From what I witnessed on stage---yes. The video highlights displayed during 'Do You Love Me' give that eerie feeling of finality. An then Paul's comments say it all. Paul --- at least 3-4 times throughout the night --- thanks the crowd for making his dream come true. Just the tone of his sincerity---tells you this is it.

- KISS -- it was a great run. I witnessed 5 KISS concerts since 1987 -- and each year got better. The original lineup put out the best concerts I've ever seen ('96 and '00). I always wondered what this group looked like in their prime (the 70's) and I witnessed it last night. A sold out stadium---18,000+ folks, standing the whole night-----singing along to every song-----with fire, bombs, rising flames and drum sets.

- Thanks! My son --- and I ---enjoyed.
