KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Scott Harris
OK U WANTED BEST WELL U GOT IT!!!! This is the second time that I saw KISS on the Farewell tour and this is my review...

I personally think that it takes at least two shows to get over the excitement of the whole KISS experience (i.e. in order to start tearing the show apart). If you take the whole experience into perspective, KISS is truely the KINGS of Rock and Roll. There is no other band hands down that have ever had such an exciting, energetic, exhilerating, uplifting show as KISS. Take the show away and the songs are still great. But the songs are just half of what KISS is really about because if you really take the whole experience in you realize that all those songs are just to bring the concert to another level...meaning that lyrical content and the power of the marshall stacks are drawing the viewer into the experience, and it's all personal. When KISS are up there performing, even tho it might seem somewhat mechanical to everyone that has seen their shows more than once, I believe that they truely mean it from the bottom of their hearts. They really love the fans, yeah love their money sure...but remember that KISS got extremely ripped off from their concert promotion deal in the 70's and their merchandising deal. Yeah sure these shows are for their retirement, they are making over 40 mill a year on these tours regardless of them selling out these shows or not. But I digress....KISS is just amazing and they deserve every penny they make. If it takes 75 bux to be able to be in their presence for over 2 hours, then I'm (and every other KISS fanatic) has been lumped into the PT Barnum syndrome...a sucker born every minute...but at least with KISS you dont get ripped off. The first time i ever saw em was on the Dynasty tour and the seats I had were very similar...dead center first loge. Everyone has heard about their setlist, the repetition of their performance, etc. I wont go into the specifics but....I will say that practice makes perfect...and if any real KISS fanatics wanna see the best of the farewell tour...go see em at the Garden when not only will it be real for the hometown boys...it will be so f**ckin tight that you might believe that those 40 something year old women in the first row are the Christeen Sixteen virgins of the future...

As far as the show was concerned...it was flawless except for Peter's mike going in and out during Beth...Peter seemed more into it after his supposive Carpel Tunnel Surgery...Ace was right on...Gene's voice sounded better not as shot as it has been, and Paul is just amazing...But Paul we all know you rule you dont have to prove your vocal range to anyone we all know that you are as close to Robert Plant as you think you are...you're all that and a bag o' chips!
