KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Ryan Nagy
This was a great show. Everything came off without a hitch. Paul and Gene sounded great as usual. No problems with any of the stage show. Pyro was all there. I was even on the floor this time and thought I was going to be smothered by all the confetti-it just kept coming!

If you read my previous review from Louisville 4/27/00, you'll see that I was very disappointed in Ace that night. This was not the case in Evanville. He played great. His leads were very crisp and I didn't notice the sloppy playing I saw in Louisville. I guess playing the same songs every night for five months has paid off(yes, the setlist was the standard Farewell Tour setlist.

If I saw anything potentially amiss this evening, it may have been with Peter. He looked like he was grimacing in pain for the first part of the show. I don't know if his wrists were bothering him or what, but he did not look like he was enjoying himself. He also seemed to miss the intro on a couple songs, which got them off to an unsure start. He started smiling and seemed to be having a better time as the show went on. His playing was fine though, and anyone who questions whether or not he is actually playing the drums doesn't know what they're talking about. Sure he's not pounding the crap out of the drums, but that's not what makes someone a good drummer anyway.

Overall this was a great show and I would recommend it to anyone who has or hasn't seen it at this point. I'm very happy I got to see this show, as it definitely was one to remember!
